Note: Gwen White was a painter and illustrator who studied at the Bournemouth School of Art before furthering her studies at the Royal College of Art, London under Randolph Schwabe and Malcolm Osborne. Between 1933 and 1946 she was a regular illustrator of Enid Blyton books as well as designing children's programmes for the BBC. White was a great friend of the artists Charlotte and Edward Bawden.
