A CHINESE BRONZE AND PARCEL-GILT FANG DING

Qing dynasty, of archaistic form, cast in tapered rectangular section, the panels finely carved in relief with stylised beasts, on a quadruped base of four swept legs, with a moulded wood cover and carved finial, 20cm high overall x 13cm wide x 9cm deep

Provenance: An old receipt records 'One pc of Qianlong parcel gilt Fang ding 18th century', dated August 14, '84, Hong Kong.

The item appears to be in fair condition considering age. There is some wear to the finial, minor chips. Wear to the gilt throughout. There is some splitting to lower section - where the legs join the body.
