The painting bears clear condition issues. The picture surface is unstable in places, with areas where the paint is clearly flaking away (especially visible to the right-hand side of the picture surface). There are uneven areas of fading and discolouration to the entirety of the picture surface. There is a particularly prominent area of discolouration visible to the left of the subject's head. Picture surface tension is good; it has almost certainly been relined (and possibly cut down), but not recently. Overall, the painting is in distressed condition and would require restoration.
