Bidding ended. Lot has been sold.

One table is lacking the marble top. The other has small chips and losses, particularly to the edges and corners. The top is marked and scratched with a few small notable damages to the inlay.

Both have chips, splits and losses to the veneer, one has been kept on display, the other in storge in the attics of Bridehead, the latter has greater damages in this regard, particularly to the shelf. There is small evidence of worm to the underside.

The iron stands are largely ok, on one table a wing has come unscrewed and hangs loose. There is some tarnishing consistent with age and some signs of oxidisation/rust. The castors in the feet are sticky.

This rare pair of tables of an important design both exhibit wear appropriate to their long history as centrepieces of the Bridehead entrance hall.
