all four volumes in matching gilt tooled grained brown leather binding with red leather half titles (9)

The bindings of the Bacon volumes are fairly poor with volume 1 having detached front and rear covers, and volume 4 having a detached front cover. The binding generally is scuffed, worn and cracked, with the text being slightly foxed and stained. The text appears to be complete but we have not collated this work thoroughly.

The Stanhope four volumes are in matching bindings which are slightly scuffed and worn as you might expect commensurate with age and use. There is some cracking to hinges, dog-eared and with the text slightly foxed.
