The brass corners and handles have expected discolouration commensurate with age and use within the house. The lacquer and gilt surface has separated in some areas, with minor losses and cracks throughout and multiple abraded sections, particularly to the corners. Small chips to the fretwork apron. Expected wear to the legs and feet. The pierced metal border, to the base has come away in some areas. Very minor scratches to the glass.

The interior bears similar splits and minor losses to the ebonised and gilt decoration. One drawer is without a handle. Multiple drawers have wear to the corners. Splits are present throughout, in particular to the ceiling, it appears that some minor mould has developed within these splits. One corner apron has been separated and is now loose.

It is likely that the doors have been reglazed, the glazed panels were most likely originally lacquer. ***

Overall, the cabinet retains its original decorative appearance and stature.
