The painting is generally in good condition. The picture surface is stable, with good canvas surface tension. There is moderate craquelure to the majority of the canvas. There is a generally consistent varnish layer to the picture surface, with a few scattered areas of dirt (the painting might benefit from being cleaned). There is also some wear to the frame, including various small scratches. The painting comes from a private West Country estate, and is essentially fresh to the market.
