Louis Recordon was a Swiss born clock maker who is recorded working on Greek Street (Soho) from 1778 to 1824. He produced many quality movements including a watch in the Royal Collection belonging to George III. In 1796, he took over Josiah Emery's business, hence subsequently signing the dials 'late Emery'. He was also the agent for the great French horologist of that time, Abraham-Louis Breguet (1747-1823).

The case has a number of alterations that suggests the movement is drilled and fitted later; there are screws to the sides which prevent the side door from opening. The is some splitting and losses to the veneer, as well a surface wear and scratching consistent with age and use.

The clock comes with key and pendulum. It is not currently running.

We dp not guarantee clocks to be in working order.
