A CHINESE BLACK LACQUERED OCTAGONAL WORK BOX

early 19th century, finely gilded with figures, dragons and floral ornaments, twin handles to side and fitted with a single drawer, 14cm high x 35cm wide x 26cm deep, lacking fitted interior and containing mixed decorative objects and costume jewellery; together with a Chinese red lacquered wood barrel form garden seat, 19th century, the seat decorated with two fishermen in a boat, the frieze and legs with anhua cloud bands, 47cm high x 42cm diameter;

a Chinese embroidered silk panel, 45cm x 36cm; a Chinese giltwood memorial tablet or stele, inscribed in black with Chinese and another script, possibly Phags-pa, on stepped and lacquered carved base, 68cm high x 24cm wide x 15cm deep; a Chinese painted pottery figure of a standing courtier, early 20th century, his blue robes decorated with dragons, with nodding head, 31cm high, contained under a glass dome, with stand; a turquoise glazed pottery baluster electric table lamp with shade, 60cm high; a Chinese carved and painted wood marionette with embroidered clothes, 74cm high; and a green painted wood hat stand, together with seven caps of various designs (a lot)

Note: The Chinese script on the memorial tablet roughly translates to: 'Profoundly revere the heavenly Emperor, whose auspicious reign established righteousness, displayed marshall and civil brilliance, and possessed broad benevolence, trustworthiness and compassion. May his divine spirit be thrice revered'. 

The Phags-pa script was created for the Mongol Yuan Dynasty and is often found alongside Chinese text on monuments from that period.

The figure under glass appears to have a painted terracotta body. There are some small chips and losses. 

The lamp base and rim mounts are fixed, it is not posisble to remove without damaging. Otherwise it appears largely ok.

The export games box is largely ok, with some signs of wear and damage consistent with age and use. The panel within the drawer has lost its hinged. Some cracks. 

The stool has old damages, some small splits and cracks. Surface wear throughout and rubbing to decoration. 

The tablet is largely ok however scratched.
