bearing a four character Qianlong mark to the base enamelled in blue, the domed top over a slender turned stem and stepped circular base with five ruyi head bracket feet, the turquoise ground decorated throughout with brightly coloured blossoming flowers and leafy foliage, 38cm high x 17cm diameter

In the Qianlong period hat stands began to be produced in a range of different designs and styles that demonstrated the technical mastery of craftsmen working at the imperial kilns. The elaborate styles and decorations changing the landscape of the otherwise utilitarian objects.
