The thangka is presently housed in a removable frame, with the textile attached to a Perspex (acrylic) backing board using tape. This method of attachment is not conservation-appropriate but appears easily reversible, and the tape could likely be removed without significant intervention. Once the tape is released, the thangka can be separated from the Perspex backing and fully freed from the later framing and support additions. Additional photos available on request
