A JAPANESE SHIN-GUNTO OFFICERS SWORD

c.1930-1945, the blade engraved 'Fudo Myo-Oh' and 'Hachi-man Dai Bosatsu', a copper habaki above a stamped tsuba and wrapped fish-skin grip, 106cm long

There is considerable tarnishing to the blade and metal features, including the tsuba. 

The handle is loose and the string/wrap is undone. One peg is detached but present. The fish-skin grip is worn and the fabric is faded and damaged. The appear to be splits and damage to the wooden parts of the hanlde also.

The blade is 76.5cm long to the hanlde.

it is nearly 3.5cm wide at the base and nearly 1cm thick.


Unfortunately, the handle cannot be removed
