Edo period, modelled as Ashinaga carrying Tenaga, who is attempting to grab an octopus coiled at his friends feet, 5.5cm high; together with another similar netsuke, of square 'manju' form, carved in relief with a seated man with his hat, 4cm high (2)

Both figures are in good condition, bearing surface wear commensurate with their age.

The example with the flat back has a minor loss the fingers of one hand, there is some evidence of historic adhesive to the behind.
