the central round cabochon amethyst, c. 11mm diameter, surrounded with two rows of seed pearls with further seed pearls to the detachable bail, testing as 18ct, signed C.G, pendant c. 26mm diameter, overall drop c. 33mm, c 6.6 grams

Carlo Guilano (1831-1895) is known to have worked in London from the 1860s. His work is characterised as being influenced by the Renaissance Revival but his colours, designs and intricate craftmanship set him above his contemporaries, making him highly collectable today.
