After escaping Nazi Germany, Elfrieda Fluss (1914-2004) worked as Milliner to the Queen from the early 1940s to the 1980s, creating the iconic feathered tricorn worn by Her Majesty at her Coronation in 1953. In later life, Elfrieda Fluss entered into an antiques dealing with her friend John Charlesworth, trading as Fluss & Charlesworth Ltd.
