The painting is in very good general condition. The picture surface is stable, with a consistent glossy varnish layer. There are a few minor surface scratches and abrasions. There are some isolated areas of craquelure, and a few areas of spotting. Please see additional images available on request.
In terms of provenance, the picture depicts an ancestor of the vendor. The painting comes from the collection of a longstanding Purbeck resident.
