Please note that the picture bears a date and signature to the lower left. The painting is generally in good condition. The picture surface is stable, with some areas of craquelure. There is fading and general discolouration throughout; the picture would benefit from cleaning and some degree of restoration. There is a thin horizontal crack to the right of the picture surface. The signature and date appear to have been strengthened at some point, as this section of the painting is notably fresher and more varnished. The frame appears to be original, but is in poor condition, with many areas of loss and instability. The reverse of the painting would benefit from being cleaned as there seems to be some mould.
