RARE CARVED STONE STELE, LATE MING, the central niche carved with a buddha seated on a lotus throne, flanked by two attendants, the niche is then surrounded by fifteen further smaller buddhas, the reverse inscribed to commemorate the death of the Mahasattva Monk Guangsheng in 1497, the stele was then put in place thirty eight years later in 1535 during the reign of Jiajing Emperor, 52cm wide, 65cm high Provenance: The Collection of Molly van Loon
