JOAN ROSLYN HATHAWAY (1933 - 1988): AN ART DECO STYLE THREE SECTION LUCITE SCREEN, rectangular form, the central panel engraved with a dancing female figure, in the manner of Demetre Chiparus, flanked by two shaped "cloud" top stylized panels, decorated with scroll ribbons, linear border, signed, 202cm H x 284cm W Joan Roslyn Hathaway was born in Hartford, Connecticut, and attended the Traphagen Fashion Design School in New York. In 1973, she set up Joan of Art Studio in Hollywood and commissioned many works including for the Bostonian Shoe Co, The Yankee Stadium in New York and for exclusive hotels and nightclubs on the west coast of America.
