LADY NOVELISTS AND WRITERS Currie, Lady Mary Montgomerie, otherwise known as Violet Fane, 1843-1905. An interesting letter dated July 1st (No year) on personal note paper '8 Princess Gate S.W.', referring to her desire to 'appear in the Tauchwitz Edition'. Signed M.M. Singleton (''Violet Fane''). Lady Mary married Henry Sydenham Singleton in 1864, she was twenty one; he was forty five, hence the signature. Her pseudonym was taken from Disraeli's novel 'Vivien Grey'. Good condition, small glue mark to top-back left. Other letters including Frances Cashel Hoey, Jean Ingelow, Harriet Parr, Katherine Macquoid, Florence Marryat, Matilda Betham Edwards, Frances Mary Pearl, Mrs Henry Wood. (8)
