LOUIS XVI STYLE THUYA AND PURPLE HEART CENTRE TABLE, 19th century, in the manner of Henry Dasson, with finely-chiseled ormolu mounts throughout, the marquetry top with a river landscape and buildings over a single frieze drawer, on faceted tapering and turned legs with fluted acanthus leaf capitals and faceted tapering toupie feet, 71cm x 58cmProvenance: This exhibition quality table was acquired by the vendor's grandmother, Milly Lord, who was the landlady at the Commercial Hotel, Dartmouth, Devon. According to family tradition she acquired the table at an auction on the premises of a large country house at Kingswear, Devon, after it had sustained bomb damage following a raid by the Luftwaffe.
