THE GREAT WAR MILITARY CROSS GROUP TO MAJOR HONOURABLE H L F MOULTON RGA, MP FOR SALISBURY, 1923, swing mounted for display, 1914/15 Star = 2. Lieut Hon. H L F Moulton RGA, Pair = Major Hon H L F Moulton Hugh Lawrence Fletcher Moulton was born on 1st April 1876 in Kensington, London. The son of John Fletcher Moulton, Baron Moulton of Bank, GBE KCB QC PC FRAS FRS. Educated at Eton and entered Cambridge University as a Kings Scholar. Achieved a BA Honour degree in Law, called to the Bar 14th June 1899. Served in the Great War with the Royal Garrison Artillery as a Second Lieutenant, subsequently Major. He had been a Cambridge University Rifle Volunteer. He was wounded on 4th September 1917, while in command of a Siege Battery. Awarded the Military Cross, gazetted in January 1918. After the War he was mainly involved in Patent Work, he served as Liberal MP for Salisbury for one year in 1923. Moulton passed away in Kensington in March 1962.
