FINE CINNABAR LACQUER CHRYSANTHEMUM-FORM BOX AND COVER, QIANLONG PERIOD, the domed cover finely carved with scholars and attendants, underneath pine trees in a balustraded pavilion overlooking rocky mountains, all reserved on a fine diaper ground, bordered with a keyfret band, the lobed sides with radiating panels of chrysanthemums, bears old United States, customs label to underside, 21cm wide Provenance; Acquired in the United States by a Belgium private collector circa 1930, and thence by descent.
