Parsons Ltd of Newcastle Upon Tyne in 1916, each housed in wooden military boxes with heavy carrying handles, the mirrors 70cm dia. overall, the cases 90cm wide at the handles (2) Parabolic reflectors were used in searchlights when coupled with an extremely luminous source, usually a carbon arc lamp, to project a highly powerful beam of light in a particular direction
