RARE ANGLO-SAXON BRONZE AND COPPER ALLOY MOUNT, circa 550AD to 650AD, "chip-carved" with a zoomorphic design perhaps representing the face of Woden or Odin, with extensive traces of the origi-nal gilt, the reverse with three fastening pins, 21mm dia. Mounts of this type were normally found on shields or harness.
