EARLY 19TH CENTURY BONE PRISONER OF WAR "SPINNING JENNY" TOY AUTOMATON, the two level model, made up of a group of weavers and their children, working around a "spinning Jenny", the lower section wheels and spindles rotate, activating the figure above, 13cms high x 11cms wide, on a later wooden stand with brass ball feet, housed in a later glass and wooden case. Together with a copy of T. J Walker M.D. "The Depot for Prisoners of war at Norman Cross, Huntingdonshire 1796 to 1816" (The author was the ven-dor's great grandfather, a doctor in Peterborough, who collected prisoner of war items such as this c1910).
