RARE HUANGHUALI ADJUSTABLE HEIGHT TABLE, MING DYNASTY, the cleated rectangular top above a frieze carved with carved archaistic scrolls, raised on four corner square from conforming scroll legs, 97cm wide, 31cm high, 69cm deep FOOTNOTE: Adjustable height tables were in its current form used during winter as a Kang - during summer these short feet are detached and replaced by a longer leg allowing the table to used within the garden until the return of winter; this table retains its original lacquer surface to the underside, rarely seen in tables of this age a period.
