GREAT WAR & LSGC GROUP TO QUARTER MASTER LIEUTENANT K M ROBERTSON Seaforths later commissioned into the Durham Light Infantry 1914/15 Star correctly impressed - 3-7693 CQMS K Robertson Highrs Pair correctly impressed - QM & LT K M Robertson EVII LSGC correctly impressed- 4124 SJT K Robertson S'Fth Hdrs Condition GVF Kenneth MacRae Robertson was born in Ayr, Scotland in 1876. In civilian life, he worked as a Telegraph Messenger. He joined the Seaforth Highlanders aged fifteen on 9th November 1891. He didn't see service in the Boer War or any other conflicts, instead spending long periods based in the East Indies. He was discharged after the end of his second engagement on 8th November 1912. His sole medal entitlement for this period of service was the Long Service Good Conduct which was awarded on 1st April 1910. He re-entered the army at some point after the start of the Great War, joining the 3rd battalion of the Seaforth Highlanders. Robertson landed in France with them on 8th July 1915, before being discharged to a commission with the 8th Bn. He subsequently served as a Quarter Master Lieutenant and then Captain with the Durham Light Infantry. Robertson survived the war
