A LSGC GROUP TO BANDMASTER ROSE, DURHAM LIGHT INFANTRY GVI Robed LSGC Regular Army correctly impressed 4602144 Cpl R H Rose DLI 1935 Coronation Medal Condition VF (Edge bruising & light polishing. The first number is very faint) Frank Hubert Rose was born in Willesden London on 9th December 1900. He joined up in 1915 and transferred the Band of the Durham Light Infantry in 1933. He served as Bandmaster of the 2nd Bn from 1934 until 1945. Awarded the Long Service and Good Conduct Medal in 1934. There are frequent mentions in the Northern Daily Mail of Rose during the Second World War. He was based at home and led the band as they played for civilians and troops on leave. His home address is given as 7 Ellison Street, West Hartlepool.
