TWO 1914/15 TRIOS TO BROTHERS, LANCASHIRE FUSILIERS AND SOUTH LANCASHIRE REGIMENT The younger brother had joined up aged 15 and was wounded at Gallipoli aged 16. Both brothers were born in Castleton Lancashire, and in civilian life worked as Tube Makers. 18092 Pte J W Moore Lan Fus. John William Moore served with the 1st battalion Lancashire Fusiliers. Landing with them at Gallipoli on 17th July 1915. He then saw service on the Western Front, being wounded on 3rd September 1916. John was transferred on a number of occasions between battalions in the regiment. He survived the war and was transferred to the reserves in March 1919. Trio confirmed on the roll and MIC Medals correctly impressed 1914/15 Star - 18092 Pte J W Moore Lan Fus. British War Medal & Victory Medal - 18092 Pte J W Moore Lan Fus Condition VF+ 19449 Pte J Moore S Lan R James Moore was born in October 1898, he attested on the 8th September 1914, joining 6th Battalion South Lancashire Regiment. He landed in Gallipoli on 1st July 1915 and is listed as having been wounded in the Manchester Courier and Lancashire General Advertiser on 24th August 1915. He survived the war and was discharged on the 13th June 1919 aged 21, having been wounded at Gallipoli aged 16.
