AFRICAN GENERAL SERVICE MEDAL BAR SOMALILAND 1902 - 1904

AFRICAN GENERAL SERVICE MEDAL BAR SOMALILAND 1902 - 1904 awarded to A Davies, a Stoker on HMS Perseus. During WW1 he was killed in action on board Submarine E6. Correctly impressed - A Davies Sto 2Cl HMS Perseus Medal confirmed on the roll and in papers. Condition NVF Albert Davies was born in Pembroke; he joined the Royal Navy aged 18. He served as a Stoker 2nd class, while on HMS Perseus earning the AGSM. During the Great War, he served on Submarine Depots and was sadly killed on Submarine E6 when it was mined after leaving Harwich. Davies is remembered on the Plymouth Naval Memorial.
