EF Condition British War Medal correctly impressed - Lieut The Hom S J Best RNVR, LSGC correctly engraved - Vol The Hon'ble S J Best 1st Bn C V Rifles Samuel John Best as born on 24th June 1874, the second son of the George Best 5th Baron Wynford. A member of the Calcutta Volunteer Rifles. During the Great War, he served with the Royal Navy Volunteer Reserves; it is believed he was involved in delivering important despatches.
