AN IMPORTANT ELIZABETH I WALNUT REFECTORY TABLE, circa 1580, with an associated rectangular top over a gadrooned frieze with stylised leaves at the corners, each of the four legs carved with dancing putti amidst foliage beneath leafy iconic capitals joined by squared stretchers, areas with traces of stained and painted decoration, 98" x 35.5" Provenance: Sold by Charles Duveen to William Randolph Hurst on 8th December 1930 for $10,434.78 and later acquired by Robert V. Cooke
