AN IMPORTANT LATE GOTHIC JOINED OAK REFECTORY TABLE, probably circa 1550, with a three-plank rectangular top over a plain frieze with simple shaped corner brackets, on substantial faceted column legs with simple notched decoration at the top and base and joined by squared stretchers, 94" long x 32" wide x 32.75" high Literature: Illustrated by Victor Chinnery: "Oak Furniture: The British Tradition", published 1979, page 183, figure 2.199 where the author states "The sheer sense of age in the surface and design of this massive table should be studied for its own sake".
