AN IMPORTANT GEORGE II IRISH MAHOGANY SIDE TABLE, the rectangular top with a bold gadrooned edge over a deep apron carved and pierced with rocaille-work, shells, leafy fronds and scroll-work, on a ground incised with a diaper pattern, on four cabriole legs carved to the knee with rocaille cabochons and ending in carved webbed feet, 55.5" wide x 25.5" deep x 31" high Literature: Anthony Coleridge: "Chippendale Furniture", published 1968, no.364, where the author states "...from Raynham Hall, Norfolk, where it is thought Chippendale was employed".
