MAREVNA (1892-1984) 'Angus McBean' cubist half-length portrait, the sitter depicted seated in a chair wearing a patterned jacket, signed and dated 1953, watercolour, 30.5" x 22" Angus McBean was a well-known photographer who pioneered double exposure photography. McBean visited Athelhampton and used Marevna's daughter, Marika, as his muse. At one point he had a dark room at the top of the north wing.
