A NORTH ITALIAN GILTWOOD PIER MIRROR of neo-classical design, the cresting with an urn of flower swagged with drapes from which emanate sprays of flowering branches, flanked by two seated hounds with tails continuing into leaf-carved scrolls, from which are suspended oak leaves and acorns, the rectangular plate within a simple carved border, with cascading leaves at the sides and apron composed of a band of stylised stiff acanthus leaves, with urn finials at the sides supported on fluted and panelled plinths projecting below the line of the apron, late 18th century, 218.5cm high x 109.25cm wide (maximum)
