INLAID METAL AND PARCEL-GILT INSCRIBED HEXALOBE EWER, KANGXI PERIOD, the neck with gilt chrysanthemums on each lobe, the tapering body decorated in silver and gold with panels showing birds and animals amongst foliage, the handle imitating a branch, the curved parcel-gilt spout suggesting bamboo, the base with a ten-character gilt inscription 'Xin zhu Huang Liu Wei shen de he xiang zhi' (Huang Liuwei, careful to store up virtue in his heart, had this made), 12cm high Provenance: E & H Manners, London, 5th June 2000.
