BLUE AND WHITE SHALLOW MING-STYLE 'BOYS' BOWL, XUANDE SIX CHARACTER MARK BUT KANGXI PERIOD, the exterior of the finely-potted gently-rounded body decorated with a continuous scene of boys playing on a garden terrace, 19.5cm diam Provenance: Duke's, 26th May 2005, lot 360. Note: this bowl is a good example of the group of very fine Ming style porcelain produced in the Kangxi period. A Yongle bowl in the Ko Tianminglou Collection is identical in diameter and height.
