BLUE AND WHITE PEAR-SHAPED VASE, KANGXI PERIOD, the everted top rim with a cross-hatched band, above the plain long neck and ovoid body with a continuous 'Love Chase' scene from the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, showing horsemen riding out from a palace towards a lake with a boatman, the scene terminating in rocky mountains, 18.5cm high Provenance: E&H Manners, London, July 1988. Note: a comparable vase is illustrated in Pope, A., Porcelains in the Frick Collection, vol.VII, New York 1974, p.30.
