RARE LUSINA SILVER CASED FOLDING STAND WRISTWATCH

RARE LUSINA SILVER CASED FOLDING STAND WRISTWATCH with manual wind movement, black dial, subsidiary seconds dial, silver Arabic numerals and hands, Swastika emblem to the top of the watch case, engraved to the case back General Major Hermann Breith, on a black leather strap, circa 1940's, no. 12212, case diameter approx. 35mm. Provenance: Believed to be awarded to General Major Hermann Breith by Adolf Hitler Hermann Breith was born in Pirmasens, Germany on the 7th May 1892. He served in the army during World War I and was awarded both Iron Cross First and Second Class. In the post war years he continued to serve in significantly reduced German Army during the early stages of the Second World War. He was awarded the class to both of his Iron Crosses. Breith was awarded the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross as a Colonel while in command of the Fifth Panzer Brigade. He would win the Oak Leaves while serving as a Major General Commander of the Third Panzer Brigade. His final decoration of gallantry was for sword to go with his Knights Cross and Oak Leaves. Breith was awarded the swords whilst serving as General Panzetruppe of the Third Panzer Corps. He survived the war and past away aged 72 on the 3rd September 1964.
