CAMPAIGN GROUP TO THREE TO PRIVATE FOSTER DEVON REGT 1854 IGS ' Burma 1889-92' Contemporarily renamed in none official engraved style - 1785 Pte W Foster Devon Regt QSA; Tugela Heights; Orange Free State; Relief of Ladysmith; Transvaal and Laing's Nek. Correctly impressed 5250 Pte W Foster Devon Regt. KSA; South Africa 1901 and South Africa 1902. Correctly impressed 1785 Pte W Foster Devon Regt. Please note the difference in service numbers. Condition VF ( Edge bruising and contacting, naming not affected) William Foster was born in Devon in 1869. He joined the Devonshire Regiment at Exeter on 9th September 1887. He served in the Second Boer War and was awarded the QSA and KSA with the bars confirmed. It looks, however that the IGS was a self award. It is not mentioned in his service papers and it is not confirmed on the roll. Both service numbers are confirmed in his papers.
