Colonel. Sir Robert Whyte Melville Jackson was born on 3rd June 1860. He was educated at Marlborough College and first served with the 2nd Bn Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers. Remaining with the Regiment during the 2nd Boer War. During the Great War he served in the Balkans with the ROAC and then later as a Brigadier General in a Staff Officer Role.
