SIR ROBERT WHYTE MELVILLE JACKSON K.C.M.G. awarded 1918 K.B.E. awarded 1919 C.B. awarded 1908 Queens South Africa - Cape Colony; Orange Free State and Laing's Nek Kings South Africa Medal - South Africa 1901 & South Africa 1902 1914/15 Trio with M.I.D Order of the White Eagle awarded 1916. Colonel. Sir Robert Whyte Melville Jackson was born on 3rd June 1860. He was educated at Marlborough College and first served with the 2nd Bn Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers. Remaining with the Regiment during the 2nd Boer War. During the Great War he served in the Balkans with the ROAC and then later as a Brigadier General in a Staff Officer Role.
