NAVAL UNIFORM AND SWORD BELONGING TO D H T L JENKINS Dress uniform with trousers and visor, by Grieves of London. With Medal ribbon bar. In stunning condition. G.V. sword named to Jenkins, with sword hanger belt and Fowl weather cover and sword Knot. David Hallam Trevor Lloyd Jenkins first severed as a midshipman in 'Dauntless' 1st L.C.S., Atlantic Fleet. He was subsequently posted to H.M.S. Venetia in the Mediterranean fleet from 1925 to 1926. He was promoted to Lieutenant in January 1926 and then served on the Cruisers H.M.S. Canterbury and H.M.S. Sussex. Posted to the Far East, he served on the Yangtze aboard the river Gunboat 'Cockchafer'. Service at the R.N. Barracks in Portsmouth followed and then a stint in the Persian Gulf on the Sloop H.M.S. Shoreham between 1937 and 1939. During the early stages of the Second World War, he served in the Home Fleet on-board H.M.S. Valiant. After service in the Mediterranean in 1940 to 1941, he was promoted to Commander. Commander Jenkins was then posted to Alexandria as a Liaison Officer to the Greek Navy. In 1941 to 1942. For this role, he was awarded The Greek Medal for ' Outstanding Acts' He was then posted to the cruiser H.M.S. Sirius as the Executive Office. Serving back in the Mediterranean and for his role in the Normandy Landings was mentioned in Despatches. Commander Jenkins survived the war and remained in the Royal Navy until the 1950s.
