SET OF SIX MAHOGANY AND UPHOLSTERED DINING CHAIRS IN GEORGE III STYLE, early 20th century, including one elbow chair, the arched toprails above openwork splats carved with tied feathers, on tapering front legs and splayed back legs; with ivorine maker's plaques for 'S & H JEWELL, 131-2 HIGH HOLBORN, LONDON, WC1', 92cm high, the elbow chair 63cm wide Note: S & H Jewell were makers of fine quality furniture, established in 1830. They were a family business, working from their premises at 29-31 Little Queen Street, Holborn, London, later moving to Parker Street, W.C.2. The High Holborn address on the plaques here appears to be that of their retail premises
