CONTINENTAL CARVED AND PART EBONISED WALNUT BUREAU DESK, in 17th century Spanish Netherlands taste, late 19th century, the openwork cresting of the superstructure with central relief carved maiden's mask, flanked by scrolling foliage, above one long drawer and a recess flanked to each side by three short drawers; the serpentine front desk with pull out leather inset writing surface above a conforming arrangement of five further drawers, with ripple and wave moulded borders overall, the cabriole legs profusely carved to the front with male masks, scrolling foliage and rocaille motifs, to scrolled feet, 142cm high, 115cm wide, 55cm deep
