A 19TH CENTURY MAHOGANY PLANTER'S CHAIR

each arm extending to allow the sitter a foot rest, with paisley pattern covers, on baluster turned front legs and outswept rear legs, 96cm high x 72cm wide. The planter's chair was invented in colonial India, where the ladies and gentlemen were often advised to take rest whilst having their legs raised.

Some surface scratches and chips, largely concentrated around the feet. a couple of obvious scratches to the top of each arm, and marks to the 'extensions' where the two sections rub. some marks to the covers.
