circa 1815, of sarcophagus form and octagonal section, the hinged cover with cavetto moulded sides, each end with a a gilt metal lion's mask with ring handle, raised on four scrolling foliate carved feet with castors,
Height 54cm
Width 67cm

The item bears the usual minor scuffs and knocks overall consistent with age and use.

The piece seems to have been lacquered or lightly varnished at some point, and this has now 'gone off', with patches of discoloration and dryness. There is a significant scuff to the front. Essentially, the exterior surfaces might need repolishing or colouring in places.

There is a circa 7" length of moulding missing from one end.

The interior is later refitted.
