As well as an Artist in his own right, Norman Darnton Lupton and his sister Agnes Lupton (1874-1950) were pre-war collectors of English watercolours who built and lived at Hyde Crook, Dorchester, in Dorset. They bequeathed the collection to Leeds City Art Gallery.
