AN IMPORTANT SET OF FOUR "ROMAYNE" PANELS
circa 1530 and bearing traces of the original polychrome decoration,
carved with figural decoration, including one possibly representing King Henry VIII, within cabled borders,
now set into a later oak cupboard.

Provenance: Family tradition suggests that these panels originally formed part of "Wallace's bedstead". The distinctive cable borders may be indicative of the Scottish origin.
